“Grandma never tasted a red like this!…Juicy & Vibrant, Smashable, Delicious Chilled, Hand Picked, Old Vine Barossa Grenache + Mourvèdre”
The Chaffey Bros are brothers-in-law Daniel Chaffey & Theo Engela along with young gun winemaker Huon Fechner. They describe themselves as part perfumiers, part historians and part mad scientists.
“We craft our handmade wines from a number of epic low-yielding vineyards nestled among the pristine Barossa & Eden Valleys in South Australia. Our wine philosophy is ‘New Wave Barossa’… Soil up. Aromatic. Textural. Unadulterated. Our main varietal pillars: Old vine Barossa Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvèdre along with aromatic Germanic white grapes from Eden Valley (Riesling, Kerner, Gewürztraminer).”
We absolutely love this wine, we know you will and your Grandma too. We’re not the only ones…
91/100 (Dave Brookes, James Halliday’s Wine Companion)
“It gladdens my heart to think of folks rocking home from the bottle-o and slapping a light red wine in the fridge. It took a while, but evolution’s like that. Grenache and mourvédre form the base here. Perky and bright with ripe, juicy, red and blue berry fruits, a liberal dose of spice, dried herbs, purple florals and ginger cake. Light on the tannin, bright acidity, a slink of texture. Nice!

“Chill and drink like a Beaujolais nouveau”
91/100 (Regan Drew, Vinonotebook.com)
“Covers all bases: Enough acidity to keep it zingy when chilled and enough fruit when that coolness warms up. Fun stuff indeed.”
Pop it in the fridge for 15-20 minutes before busting it out and serving with hard, salty cheese, salty snacks or savoury pizzas, spicy salami, prosciutto, BBQ pulled pork or lamb!
