New Zealander Warwick Foley and German Edel Everling flung open the doors of Johanneshof Cellars back in 1991 showcasing their incredible winemaking talents after learning their trade in the world famous Rheingau region of Germany.
Located at Koromiko midway between Blenheim and Picton the Johanneshof name has over 35 years experience of hand crafting, award winning, premium Marlborough wine. Their Gewürztraminer is without a doubt one of Aotearoa’s finest year in, year out and one we keep in our wine racks at all times!
They were also the first in NZ to create an underground rock cellar, blasted by coal miners into the rock under their Maybern vineyard, named after Warwick’s parents May and Bernard.
This single vineyard Pinot Noir is produced using fruit from that steep Maybern vineyard, first planted by Warwick as a teenager back in 1977. Producing wine from here is a labour of love with almost all of the work carried out by hand, it’s dry farmed and all hand harvested from vine to wine, no corners cut.
A Gold medal winner at the NZ International Wine Show 2025 and after one glass you’ll see why – what a Pinot!
Warwick and Edel describe this release as “Elegantly textured this is a gentle Pinot Noir with earthy and savoury characters of wild mushrooms and spice, finishing persistent and engaging. Delightfully approachable now, the Pinot’s soft grape tannins will allow this wine to age and be a perfect accompaniment with food.”

Damn, you're looking young for your age!
