You just hardly ever see Pinot Gris of this style and quality for under twenty bucks. Rich, dry and complex with some age in small French oak barrels and made by an NZ Master of Wine (Steve Bennett). It’s flash stuff, there’s no doubt there.
This would’ve previously set you back $30 and then some. But Bennett’s decided to focus on his European wine importing game so the price on his Kairos wines have taken a tumble. Branch out and treat yourself to something different and totally kick arse – this price is nuts for a wine this classy!
Wrap your laughing gear around this Gris and you’ll see why it’s had critics from up and down the country shouting its praises from the rooftops over the past few vintages…
"Without question, this is the finest Pinot Gris ever made in this country" – Metro Magazine
"This is as complex as NZ Pinot Gris gets" – NZ Herald
"My top NZ Pinot Gris" – Dominion Post
Very food friendly style wine (pretty much anything seafood is ideal) and could even benefit from cellaring for 2-3 years yet. Go for gold.
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
