There’s Gold in them ‘thar hills! Kirrihill’s that is and to be more precise the north-eastern foothills of the Clare Valley in South Australia.
They’ve been winning Gold under this label, produced from grapes sourced entirely from their Tullymore vineyard, ever since the word go (which was around the late 90s). The Tullymore vineyard has become a reliable source of jaw droppingly quality fruit for these guys.
Their 2016 Tullymore release is yet another class act under this exciting label. The Kirrihill crew reckon this one is all about the spicy oak, black pepper and cassis flavours. We reckon the dark, inky purple colour coming out of this one would ruin any carpet forever but boy it’d be worth it, this is some seriously wow-factor Shiraz and a must try for the hardcore lovers of a big, dense and rich style Aussie red.
Ready to go now or will sit nicely in the cellar for another 10 years yet.
