Ribbit Ribbit…hiccup. That’s the sound of the Southern Bell Frog that you might find in the wetland that neighbours the Grove Mill winery down there in Marlborough.
The frogs aren’t the only ones who’ve enjoyed a glass or two of this top class 2023 release Pinot Gris. Master of Wine Bob Campbell scored it 94/100 and said “Ripe, almost luscious pinot gris with classic pear, quince, and honeysuckle flavours supported by a backbone of tangy acidity that helps drive a crisp, dry finish. Bright, refreshing wine in a food-friendly style.”
Grove Mill built the wetland back in the late 80s (before doing good stuff for the environment was “cool”) as part of their commitment to sustainable wine growing. They take sustainability seriously. From using lightweight recycled NZ glass bottles to labels produced from sugarcane (a highly renewable material that utilises an abundant by-product) to the winery being powered by over 300 solar panels.
Enjoy this awesome Marlborough Gris with white meats like chicken, fish and pork and especially spicy Asian cuisine.
