No wonder the dude on the front label is doing a little jig. That’s Dionysus by the way, Greek God of Wine, and star of the front label of Thornbury Pinot Gris. There’s plenty to celebrate about when you’re owned by one of the most successful NZ wineries of all time (Villa Maria) and have access to their vast selection of top vineyards and grape growers all around the country!
There’s even more jigging to be done when you’re taking out Trophies at major wine competitions. We’re talking the NZ International Wine Show 2019 (NZ’s largest wine competition) and the Trophy for Champion Pinot Gris!
This is always a good value option, off-dry in style from the Waipara region, where Simon (the head wine guy at Thornbury) says there’s heaps to see and do. Why not go whale watching in the Kaikoura, or get a massage at the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools? A rub down will feel all the better with a glass of this citrusy, mouth-filling Gris!
If it’s Asian tonight, like Thai curries or a Chinese chicken dish, then Thornbury Pinot Gris is your wine.
