Real Compania de Vinos Tempranillo – or as we call it A Real bloody amazing bargain! This label has always been good value but this 2016 is off the scale. This is the wine that took home the Trophy for Champion Single Variety Red at the New World Wine Awards along with its Gold medal and whopper 97/100 score from the judges.
That’s a wine show that attracts over 1,200 entries, all judged blind by a panel of 16 professional judges.
From the very heart of Spanish wine making country (La Mancha) and produced from the grape variety that’s at the heart of everything Spanish wine does well (Tempranillo – pronounced temp-rah-knee-oh).
This is a silky smooth red that’s bursting with vibrant dark berry fruit flavours. A modern, fruit driven style that’ll leave you reaching for another glass in no time. If you’re into styles like Pinot Noir, Syrah or Merlot you’ll love this!
Real Compania de Vinos (the Royal Wine Company) – “ray-al comp-an-year de vee-nos“. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to pronounce it just chuck in the case or two in your cart now and enjoy! You simply can’t go wrong here. Get in quick – a small amount of this ’16 vintage is now back in NZ but we doubt it’ll last!
With or without food, it’s a gem. Our tip is whip this one out with a Spanish paella dish, tapas or pasta.
