There’s Gold in them ‘thar hills! Kirrihill’s that is and to be more precise the north-eastern foothills of the Clare Valley in South Australia.
They’ve been winning Gold under this label, produced from grapes sourced entirely from specially selected vineyards, ever since the word go (which was around the late 90s). This latest 2017 release was made with fruit from the Schobers vineyard there in the Clare.
This is the Kirrihill Vineyard Selection Shiraz 2017 release and is yet another class act under this exciting label. The Kirrihill crew reckon this one is all about the spicy oak, black pepper and cassis flavours. We reckon the dark, inky purple colour coming out of this one would ruin any carpet forever but boy it’d be worth it, this is some seriously wow-factor Shiraz and a must try for the hardcore lovers of a big, dense and rich style Aussie red.
Ready to go now or will sit nicely in the cellar for another 10 years yet.
