“Nothing is more perfect than that melt-in-the-mouth moment you experience with a chargrilled dry aged steak, followed by a good glass of red. Creating a red that goes crackingly well with these ‘moments’ is pretty important.” – De Bortoli Wines Chief Winemaker Steve Webber.
Perfectly cooked chargrilled ribeye or woodfired pizza and the ideal big, gutsy red to go with it. Now we’re talking!
To craft the kind of wine Steve was after he selected parcels of fruit from Northern Heathcote’s Chinaman’s Bend, Corop and Colbinabbin areas. Here the ancient red Cambrian soils are ideal for darkly fruited, plump styles of Shiraz.
De Bortoli Woodfired Shiraz is a label that’s hot right now, maybe that’s why the corner of the label is slightly singed! And you’ll be wanting to fire up the barbie and match with a chargrilled ribeye or woodfired pizza!
