Dog Point Pinot Noir is one of NZ’s premier Pinots from Marlborough and the wine is made by the very talented ex-Cloudy Bay duo James Healy and Ivan Sutherland. As wine writer Bob Campbell puts it “these boys really know their stuff“.
These guys are a class outfit. They make just four wines and year in, year out every vintage hits the mark. Probably best known for their Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, but their Pinot Noir takes on Marlborough’s best any day.
A single vineyard wine, hand picked fruit, aged for 18 months in French oak. An elegant Pinot full of red berries, cherries and spice.
Scoring 5 Stars iconic NZ wine critic Michael Cooper said ““This classy, finely structured red is estate-grown on the south side of the Wairau Valley, hand-picked and matured for 18 months in French oak barriques. The 2022 vintage has a fragrant, savoury, youthful bouquet. Full, bright ruby, it has layers of berry, plum, spice and nut flavours, fresh acidity, and very impressive harmony, complexity and length.”
Drink Dog Point Pinot Noir now to 2037 and food match with fresh game meats like duck or venison, or a wild mushroom dish.
