St Hugo
Honouring a legend of the Barossa.
Barossa, Australia
Award winning
World famous
A legend of the Barossa wine scene if there ever was one! Hugo Gramp was born in the Barossa in 1895 and it was in this part of the wine world that he worked and lived his entire life.
Johann Gramp. Founder of Gramp & Sons winery in 1847.
It was Hugo’s grandfather Johan who was a pioneer of the region, planting the first vines in 1847 and running the family wine ‘biz with his son Gustav (known as “Gramp & Sons”), until Hugo took over the reigns at age 25.
You'll love drinking them as much as he loves making them.
He’s Peter Munro and since 2019 he’s been Chief of all Winemaking things at St Hugo. With more than 20 years of winemaking experience under his belt he’s well placed to continue honouring the Gramp family legacy.
He’s done his thing in New Zealand’s Hawke’s Bay, California’s Napa Valley and Australia’s Barossa Valley. “My passion is to create outstanding fine wines that excite the palate, wines to be enjoyed and interpreted over time. A good wine should be an imaginative and poetic reflection of its origin.”
We reckon you’ll love drinking St Hugo wines as much as he loves making them!
