It seems pretty fitting that Villa Maria decided to put their Cellar Selection range behind a Gold label – being NZ’s most awarded winery they’ve won a Gold or few in their time.
Here’s another one to add to the list. Their 2018 Cellar Selection Viognier, from Hawke’s Bay, took out a top award at the NZ Wine of the Year Awards 2019 (formerly known as the Air NZ Wine Awards) – they won a Gold medal and Trophy for Champion Other White at that show!
We’re sure more people would sip Viognier if they knew how to pronounce it! For the record it’s vee-on-yay and it’s a typically rich, full bodied white with a touch of spice that makes an awesome partner with spicy Asian cuisine or white meat dishes in rich, creamy sauces! Go all Master Chef on your loved one and serve up chicken tangine with a creamy almond and apricot sauce and a nicely chilled glass of this. You can thank us later!
