Ok, so we know that Villa Maria are one of the best Chardonnay producers in NZ (ok, probably the best) and that they win a hell of a lot of medals (in fact they’re NZ’s most awarded winery) but it says it all when their sub-$20 Cellar Selection label consistently picks up the kind of gongs most wineries would call Reserve and charge you $30 plus for!
They’ll tell you their 2017 Marlborough release is all about the youthful bouquet of white peach with lovely almond nuances and toast oak. Sheesh, we just lick our lips after every glass of this simply delicious soft, creamy Marlborough Chardonnay that’s hard to beat for the money.
Pair it with white meats and seafoods in rich dishes, cheeses and salads. Villa Maria Cellar Selection Marlborough Chardonnay.
