In the 70’s he was a pioneer in farming Greenshell mussels. In the 80’s he turned to deer farming. And today Peter and his wife Val head the highly successful (and vast) Yealands Estate wine range.
Sustainability is the key for Yealands and this is echoed in everything they do. From allowing sheep to graze between the rows of vines, to using recycled glass and packaging in production.
Pete’s 2017 Gris is the typical Marlborough style Gris – lush, off-dry style with a touch of sweetness and full of yummy stone fruit flavours but that refreshing dry finish we love. Give it a whirl with seafood, poultry or pork.
