Barossa Shiraz aged in whisky barrels? Are ya nuts?!
This is just the second ever vintage of Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel Shiraz. What started with selected parcels of rich, ripe Shiraz from Barossa vineyards was first aged in traditional American oak barrels before being finished in Scottish whisky barrels!
All that talk of oak and barrels doesn’t paint the real deal – this wine’s all about the fruit. We’re talking sweet red fruits and dark chocolate flavours – a medium bodied, smooth, dry red.
Not surprisingly it got plenty of media when released and to date has had some pretty rate reviews to back it up. Top Aussie wine guru James Halliday scored it an impressive 92/100 and said "Feels soft and generous throughout". Drink it now and over the next 3-4 years.
