He was the father to twelve sons, two daughters and Australian Shiraz. His name’s George Wyndham – you can call him George.
He planted Australia’s first commercial vineyard of Shiraz way back in 1830. His Wyndham Estate has gone on to be one of the most iconic South Australian producers – in tipping their hat to the man and the legend they’ve changed the name of the winery from Wyndham Estate to simply “George Wyndham”.
Founder’s Reserve is the step up in quality from their well known “Bin” range. Produced from low yielding vines in the Langhorne Creek sub region, aged for fifteen months in oak, this is your full bodied, richly flavoured red with silky tannins.
George wasn’t the kind of bloke to muck about – if he were around today he’d be telling you to get this one open with a big cut of grilled or barbecued beef. Done.
