Started by a couple of German immigrants (messrs Deutz & Geldermann) to France in 1838. Some 150 years later they shook hands and put pen to paper with Montana wines here in NZ to produce Champagne-like quality bubbles in Marlborough.
To this day Deutz is the only NZ Methode Traditionelle producer that lends its name from a French Champagne house, it’s the quintessential premium Kiwi bubbles that speaks with a slight French accent.
Deutz boasts a long list of awards over the years with the most recent a pretty impressive 5 Stars & Top 10 (ranked No.3 if you were wondering) in Cuisine magazine 2015. With a cult following among fans of premium fizz, it’s the go-to recognised brand when you need bubbles to impress.
