The new ’16 Limeworks is here and we’re stoked to see it back to its big, rich (and a little bit under priced!) beautiful best!
The number one selling wine at Coopers Creek cellar door went through a rough patch last vintage with a nasty spring frost wiping out 75% of the crop. What remained was pretty kick ass stuff (Gold at Air NZ Wine Awards and Gold at NZ International Wine Show back that up) but it did see an inevitable slight price hike.
It’s back to business as normal now though and that means this iconic Hawke’s Bay label has dropped back down to its old price – music to the ears of all those hardcore Limeworks fans out there!
Produced from their vineyard that sits right next door to a lime works (and the vineyard is strewn with limestone, thus the name!) this wine still received the usual Limeworks treatment with nine months in oak, producing their signature big, rich, mouth-filling style Chardonnay.
Wash your crayfish down with this little number! Not into crayfish? Well try full flavoured chicken or pork dishes.
