Here’s an extremely drinkable French red from Chateau Tourens that won’t break the bank.
From the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region, in the south of France, Minervois (Mee-nehr-vwah) is the appellation. It wasn’t thought of much as a region, apparently over planted and over cropped but more recently the region has implemented a number of changes, vastly improving quality. In 1985 it was awarded AC status meaning wine is now produced according to the appellations closely monitored rules.
So from a region that once had little respect you can now pick up some absolute bargains that offer extremely good value for money! That’s exactly what this wine is all about.
A skilful blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan – if you’re into Merlot, NZ Syrah or even some of the easy drinking Spanish reds we sell you’ll love this. Deliciously juicy, spicy, warm, and silky smooth. Perfect with any red meat dish, or even a cheeky pizza.
