Cancelled export order Pinot! This Trophy, Double Gold (including at Decanter in London!) winning Pinot with a $35 price tag is down to $19.99! A class act for the money!

ARA Wine Estates were New Zealand’s largest single vineyard estate owned by the Todd Family. You might’ve heard of them? They’re worth a few bob. A few years ago they got bought by three brothers from another family, the Giesens. You might of heard of them? They’re also worth a few bob.

This is the top of the range Pinot Noir under the ARA label and usually selling for around the $35 mark. To be fair at that price it’s still reasonable value when you consider the gongs it’s got…

Gold medal (Decanter World Wine Awards 2023)
Gold medal (Marlborough Wine Show 2023)
Trophy Champion Southern Valleys Wine
(Marlborough Wine Show 2023)
93/100 (Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review)

The Gold at Decanter in London is impressive. From over 18,000 wines entered from around the globe less than 4% won Gold – this is one of ’em!

There’s no shortcuts taken here – this is top tier for a reason. Using the best fruit from a few of the best rows in two organic vineyards in Marlborough’s Southern Valley, using expensive new French oak and packaged in a heavy embossed bottle. It looks, feels and tastes the part of an extremely class Pinot.

Scoring 93/100 with Master of Wine Bob Campbell who said “A big, rich, ripe fruit-bomb style with dark cherry/berry, dark-fleshed plum, dark chocolate and nutty oak flavours with a suggestion of spices. Robust red with excellent cellaring potential.”

Dark berries and cherries with a gorgeous smokiness and a silken texture. A class act for the money. Don’t muck about, grab some now because the first case went in the boss’ boot and the rest is for you to scramble over!
