We’re positive more people would drink Riesling if they knew what they were buying! Ranging from thrillingly dry to richly sweet, and everything in between, Riesling has it all.

Help is at hand though thanks to the “IRF”. No, it’s not a rogue militant group it actually stands for International Riesling Foundation! They’ve devised a set of rules to classify Riesling into four categories: dry, medium dry, medium sweet and sweet.

More and more producers are now using the IRF scale on the back of the bottle to help consumers choose the style for them. This little wonder from the Waipara region sits in between the Medium Dry to Medium Sweet category, and for the money it’s great buying!

Riesling’s piercing acidity also makes it a perfect food wine. This style in particular will compliment Asian food’s sweetness and spiciness.
