The Ned Pinot Gris is made by superstar winemaker Brent Marris. You might know him better from his days crafting Wither Hills and formerly Oyster Bay. It’s slurped by wine lovers across all four corners of the globe.

So who’s Ned anyway? Well he’s tall and rugged, around 990 metres in height and you’ll find him down there in Marlborough’s Waihopai Valley. Brent spent his youth in the area so when it came to thinking up a name for his new wine project he just remembered his childhood days biking and hiking in and around the summit of the peak that over looks the Pacific Ocean, The Ned.

Brent waffles on about his Ned Pinot Gris “baked yellow apple…powdered ginger….a delicious slippery feel“.

Meanwhile Master of Wine Bob Campbell was raving about this ’23 release too. He scored it 93/100, a Top Value Award and a Top Rank Award! Bob said “Almost a pale rosé with a slight tint of straw colour. Ripe pear and stone fruit flavours with a subtle hint of sweetness that is balanced with a suggestion of fresh acidity. Delicately aromatic wine with an appealing aroma”

We will say one thing, it does slip down very easily and it’s as delicious as it’s always been. A lush, rich and juicy style Gris that will go down a treat with white meat and creamy pasta dishes.
