Wai (water) Para (sediment) – aka Muddy Water!

Muddy Water wasn’t created in a marketing room somewhere in the big smoke, it was named after the land the wine’s crafted from. Simple as that. The name might not sound all that fancy but the wine certainly is. Produced by the crowd at Greystone and taking an entirely down to earth approach to wine making, certified organic and all hand crafted.

No, they didn’t mean a hare’s breadth…they meant breath! They reckon on a chilly winter’s morning staff could regularly spot the frosty puffs of a wild hare that lived among the vines. High quality Pinot produced from a block that sits on a hillside, rich in limestone soil and containing clone types of Pinot from Burgundy – rumours have it one clone was smuggled out of Domaine de la Romanee Conti in the 1970s via a rugby player’s gumboot!

That’s the level of dedication they’ve taken to produce a first class, Burgundian style Pinot.  Aged 16 months in French oak this is a big, rich, dense Pinot that packs a punch and should sit nicely in the cellar for several years.
