- Man, this big Barossa is just utterly delicious!
- Made by ex-Penfolds winemaker
- New 2010 release and already it's DOUBLE GOLD already!
MOJO - It’s a board game, a Cuban sauce, an American television network, a beat group from the 1960s, it’s a video game, an album by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, a club in Hamburg, it’s a magic charm or spell, Supernatural power or luck, a radio station in New York, charm, sex appeal, even Illegal drugs!
But no we don’t listen to it, we don’t play it, and we don't do lines of it. In this case it’s actually a bloody good wine made by the kick arse guys at RockBare. Tim Burvill (the wine maker) used to make wine for Penfolds in the Barossa Valley before they sacked him after a massive $1.5 billion merger between Penfolds' owners Southcorp and Rosemount Estate.
Word on the street has it they gave him the heave-ho virtually the next day! They were obviously paying him far too much and needed to save the money! Tim must have been absolutely gutted at the time, but to his credit he just hopped straight back on his horse. We reckon he must be an alright guy - Penfolds' loss is Rockbare's gain!
This big Barossa number totally over delivers at this price point. She’s packed with power and full of fruit. It didn't take long for this little number to start picking up the awards. This new 2010 release has already gone Gold at the Spiegelau International Wine Comp.
If you’re into Penfolds wines or one of the many that hook into the likes of our Shot In The Dark Shiraz - give MOJO Shiraz a whirl. It’s gagging for your rump...steak!
