If Marlborough wine put NZ on the world wine map then Hunter’s did their fair share to help.

Their first vintage was in 1982. They won six awards, not a bad start right? Then international ears pricked up when a New Zealand wine (Hunter’s Sauvy) won the top award at the Sunday Times Wine Festival in London in 1986. Then again in 1987. And 1988. And 1992. And 2001!

Wind the clock forward to 2016 and they’re still family owned and operated and headed by Jane Hunter. Jane’s the closest thing to NZ wine royalty (which is why they call her “The First Lady” of NZ wine) and with an OBE, a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) for services to viticulture and a recipient of the prestigious UK Women in Wine award – you can see why.

Not much has changed since ’82 – Hunter’s are still producing Gold medal winning wine! Their Rosé is made entirely from Marlborough Pinot Noir grapes in the words of Jane is “French in style with fresh summer fruits and a dry finish.”
