Sorry, this wine is now only available at cellar door.

Tempranillo might be the native grape of Spain (and supposedly the fourth most planted variety on the planet!) but that ain’t stopping a growing number of NZ producers having a dabble at it.

Talk about nailing it first time – Church Road’s McDonald Series Tempranillo is an absolute star on debut! Chuck some of that fancy gold wire wrap around the bottle and you’d swear you’re drinking a Rioja Reserva from the heart of Spain!

We fell in love with it at first sip and we reckon you will too. A couple of top NZ wine scribblers certainly have – Michael Cooper gave it 5 Stars and called it “a powerful, dark red…deliciously rich, savoury and soft.” while Mr Raymond Chan also gave it top marks (5 Stars)
and loved its “plush and sweetly luscious flavours of black plums, dark berry fruits.”

Branch out and try something different! This class act will pair well with a whole range of dishes like game meats, pizzas, pastas, cured meats and Mexican food like nachos and burritos!
