Sorry, this is a sell out!

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a boat? Well, it’s a plane and a boat and they call it a Warbird so a little bit of all three really.

Named after the Catalina flying boat that played a key role in the Pacific during World War II. There’s only a handful of them left in the world, including one right there in the Marlborough Sounds and these guys are a part of the NZ Catalina Preservation Society.

The winemaker is Peter Jackson. No, not that Peter Jackson. This guy’s an Aussie from Queensland and he’s learnt his trade in Australia, France and Italy before making Marlborough his home.

He’s crafted this delicious off-dry style Pinot Gris that’s been flying high in recent years. Yummy on its own but if you’re looking for a food match for it you can’t go wrong with Asian cuisine, chicken or pork.
